Community call

We are excited to announce our final funding call, the Gnatwork Community Call. This time we are doing things a bit differently: the Gnatwork community voted on what projects they wanted to see funded.

The vote is now closed and the results are in. We had a total of 84 Gnatwork members vote, each selecting up to three projects. Soon you will be able to apply to carry out one of the top three projects:

  • Detecting pathogens in vector species
  • Test a novel trap design against standard surveillance techniques
  • Test a trap design against explicit estimates of biting rate

The Gnatwork management team are now writing the basis of the three proposals. To apply for one of these projects, you will need to complete the remainder of the application form and build a team with the expertise required to fulfil the project aims.

The application process will open in the next few weeks and will be announced on our website, newsletter, twitter and facebook feeds.

Projects must be:

  • Six months in total
  • Up to £45,000 in cost
  • Led by a UK-based principal investigator
  • Linked to researcher(s) in a country receiving Official Development Assistance
  • Start by 1 December 2019 at latest
  • Up to three projects will be funded
