VBD 2018

3 - 4 December 2018
The John Innes Centre, Norwich Research Park

The fourth meeting on Vector-Borne Diseases in the UK (VBD 2018) was held on the 3-4 December 2018 at The John Innes Centre, Norwich Research Park. With delegates from the human, animal and plant VBD communities, the conference brought together members of UK research groups with members of key Government Departments and their Agencies. Over the two days, six sessions were held, with 28 talks on topics ranging from emerging vector-borne diseases, surveillance, genomics and modelling.

During lunch breaks, 34 posters sparked discussions and representatives from the Gnatwork and Connected had stands to engage delegates with their networks. The conference ended with a workshop on The Minimum Information for Reporting Arthropod Infection Studies (MIRAIS), a community-developed resource to increase the reproducibility and relevance of arthropod infection studies.
